FIFA Rankings: Vietnam Team Drops 4 Ranks, Malaysia Makes a Big Jump

On July 10, the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) announced the latest men's football rankings. Accordingly, the Vietnamese men's football team dropped 4 places to 113th in the world, but is still ranked above Indonesia and Malaysia, although the two teams have made a big jump (up 5 to 6 places).

Specifically, the Vietnamese team dropped 4 places after losing 0-4 to Malaysia in the Group E match, qualifying round 3 of the 2027 Asian Cup on the evening of June 10. The red team was deducted 13.91 points, falling from 109th to 113th place. On the other hand, the Malaysian team was added 14.91 points, rising 6 places from 131st to 125th on the rankings.

In Southeast Asia, Thailand officially left the top 100 when it dropped 3 places from 99 to 102. They also lost to Turkmenistan with a score of 1-3 in Group D. Meanwhile, the Indonesian team with 2 consecutive victories against China and Bahrain, has been added 11.63 points, increased 5 places and is only 5 places behind the Vietnamese team.

The remaining Southeast Asian teams such as Cambodia, Singapore, Laos, Brunei, East Timor and Myanmar also had slight growth in this ranking.

In Asia, Japan, although down 2 places, still leads at 17th place in the world . Following is Iran at 20th place (also down 2 places). South Korea is still the 3rd place team in Asia and 23rd place in the world .

There is no change in the overall rankings, with Argentina still in first place, Spain in second and France in third.
