(CLO) On November 27, Dau Tu Newspaper organized the 16th Vietnam Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Forum with the theme "Bustling Deals". At the Forum, Dau Tu Newspaper officially released the Special Edition "Overview of Vietnam M&A Market 2024".

Speaking at the opening of the Forum, Mr. Le Trong Minh, Editor-in-Chief of Investment Newspaper and Head of the Forum Organizing Committee, said that according to a number of international consulting and research organizations, the global M&A market in 2023 is considered the worst “bear” market in the past decade. The main reasons are attributed to geopolitical instability and the global economic downturn, leading to a significant decline in both transaction value and volume.

Entering 2024, despite hopes of a revival, even a boom, M&A activities continue to perform like a dull "play". The proof is that in the first half of this year, the value of the deals recorded a slight growth. However, the transaction volume went in the opposite direction compared to the same period last year. In recent months, the overall picture, although there have been some bright spots, cannot be considered a sign of a breakthrough in the near future.

Domestically, many M&A deals have been announced since the beginning of the year, although there have been no blockbusters, to some extent it can be said that they have brought excitement about a bustling market again after a rather gloomy year.

The 16th Vietnam M&A Forum - 2024 takes place in the context of the global and Vietnamese economies gradually recovering and the M&A market is forecast to become vibrant again after a period of stagnation.

At the Forum, delegates had in-depth discussions on emerging M&A opportunities thanks to the increase in international capital flows, support from government incentive policies, and attractive corporate valuations. In particular, the rapid development of potential sectors such as real estate, retail, technology, renewable energy, financial services, and logistics.

On the sidelines of the Forum, the Organizing Committee will reserve space and time for investment connection activities, meeting businesses to share information and find partners. In particular, honoring outstanding M&A Deals & Consultants 2023 - 2024.

Along with the Forum, Dau Tu Newspaper officially released the Special Issue “Vietnam M&A Market Overview 2024”. The Special Issue will be published in Vietnamese and English in November 2024, providing full information on M&A activities in Vietnam as well as sharing experiences on M&A from deals and new trends and fields in the coming time.
