Brief introduction about Da Nang museum

Da Nang Museum was established in 1989 and officially opened at its new facility on April 26, 2011. Currently, the museum is located at 24 Tran Phu, Hai Chau Ward, within the premises of the Dien Hai Citadel National Monument – a place rich in historical value of the city.

Not only is the museum a place to preserve the past, it also plays an important role in educating the younger generations about tradition, history and culture. It displays more than 2,500 documents, images and valuable artifacts, including more than 1,900 original artifacts and many unique collections collected since the liberation day.

With a total area of 3,000m², the exhibition space of Da Nang Museum is creatively and artistically designed, divided into 3 floors with separate themes.

  • Floor 1: Introducing artifacts about Da Nang's history from prehistoric times to the present.
  • 2nd floor: Displays artifacts and documents about Da Nang during the two resistance wars against France and the US.
  • Floor 3: Recreating the cultural life of ethnic communities living in Da Nang and Quang Nam through a rich collection of artifacts and images.

Today, Da Nang Museum has become a meaningful cultural destination, where visitors can learn and deeply feel the history, people and culture of the Central region.
