Sand mining begins to serve the construction of Cao Lanh route

Sand is brought to Cao Lanh - Lo Te route, the contractor will focus on construction, speeding up the project implementation progress according to the proposed plan.


On December 25, Mr. Nguyen Van Khang, Director of Dong Thap branch (Thi Son Production and Construction Company Limited) said that the sand mine provided by Dong Thap province and directly exploited by the company to serve the construction of Cao Lanh - Lo Te route has begun to be exploited.

Sand mine serving the construction of Cao Lanh - Lo Te route has begun exploitation.

Accordingly, the area of sand mining for filling as common construction materials of Thi Son Production and Construction Company Limited is located in Thuong Thoi Tien town and Long Khanh A commune, Hong Ngu district.

The sand mine has an area of 9.95 hectares, the total approved reserve of sand for filling in the mine is 626,850m3 and the total reserve of sand for filling allowed for exploitation is 530,000m3. The maximum exploitation capacity is 86,400m3/month, equivalent to a maximum daily exploitation of 2,880m3/day.

Workers start mining from 7am to 5pm the same day, no mining at night.

The lowest mining depth is minus 15m, the mining method is open-pit with a mining period of 12.5 months. Of which, the mining period is 6.5 months and the environmental restoration period to close the mine is 6 months.

With sand, the contractor will organize 3 shifts and 4 teams to speed up the project implementation progress.

My Thuan Project Management Board (investor) said that the Cao Lanh - Lo Te route is being constructed by a consortium of contractors. The project started on April 10, 2024 with a total construction contract value of VND 819.84 billion (including contingencies).

The Cao Lanh - Lo Te route starts at An Binh intersection, An Binh commune, Cao Lanh district, Dong Thap province (about Km 26+00 according to National Highway N2B) and ends at Lo Te - Rach Soi route, in Can Tho city (about Km 54+844 according to National Highway N2B).
The investment scale includes asphalt concrete paving the main road surface and building a system of service roads along the route, arranging a fence system and completing the traffic safety system in compliance with the National Technical Regulation on Road Signs QCVN 41:2019/BGTVT.
The project has a total length of about 28.8km, with a total investment of about 950 billion VND, and will be implemented from the end of April 2024 and is expected to be completed and put into operation on December 31, 2025.
