On June 30, information from the Investigation Police Agency of Nghe An Province Police said that this unit has just issued a decision to prosecute and temporarily detain Ms. Nguyen Thi Lam (57 years old, former Director of the Nursing Center for People with Meritorious Services to the Revolution in Nghe An Province), to investigate the act of taking advantage of position and power while performing official duties.
The authorities announced the decision to prosecute the defendants.
In connection with this case, the Investigation Police Agency also prosecuted and temporarily detained Mr. Phan Hong Son (44 years old, chief accountant of the Nursing Center for People with Meritorious Services to the Revolution in Nghe An province) and Mr. Nguyen Ba Ngoc, 37 years old, Director of Construction Joint Stock Company 268 Hung Nguyen).
Through initial investigation, the police agency determined that in 2021, Ms. Nguyen Thi Lam, Director of the Nursing Center for People with Meritorious Services to the Revolution in Nghe An province, colluded with Nguyen Ba Ngoc and Phan Hong Son to create fake bidding documents, procurement documents and payment documents for procurement packages, investment in equipment, and upgrading of facilities serving people with meritorious services to withdraw money from the state budget in violation of regulations.
With the above actions, Ms. Lam and these two defendants illegally profited and caused billions of dong in damage to the state.
Currently, the Investigation Police Agency of Nghe An Province Police is conducting an expanded investigation into the remaining bid packages at this center.
