Held to a goalless draw on opening day

The 6-1 victory of U.17 Yemen over U.17 Myanmar in the early match of Group I of the U.17 Asian qualifiers put great pressure on U.17 Vietnam. Coach Cristiano Roland and his team need to defeat U.17 Kyrgyzstan to at least equalize the score gap with U.17 Yemen after the first round.

However, U.17 Kyrgyzstan is not an easy opponent to decipher. The Central Asian team has improved a lot in recent times, as evidenced by the fact that in the confrontations between the national team and U.23, Vietnam could no longer defeat Kyrgyzstan.

U.17 Vietnam (red shirt) played aggressively but created very few opportunities.

In the match at Phu Tho Stadium, although Vietnam U.17 had better possession of the ball, they had difficulty against the well-organized defense of Kyrgyzstan U.17. Even in the 17th minute, the home defense made a wrong judgment, allowing Alisherov to rush down and shoot the ball off target.

The following minutes were a tug of war, as the two teams fought fiercely in the midfield. U.17 Vietnam tried to develop short balls from home, but when they advanced to the opponent's defense, Nguyen Van Bach and his teammates encountered many difficulties. The attacking tactics of U.17 Vietnam were neutralized by the ability to fight one-on-one and cover well from the Central Asian youth team.

On the other hand, strong throw-ins into the penalty area of U.17 Kyrgyzstan became a "secret weapon" that made it difficult for the home team.

U.17 Kyrgyzstan disciplined defense

After a goalless first half, U.17 Vietnam increased the intensity of their attacks in the second half. In the 56th minute, Nguyen Luc had a tricky shot outside the penalty area, but the ball missed the goal. 8 minutes later, Van Duong tested the Kyrgyzstan U.17 goalkeeper with a curling shot, but the away team still won.

U.17 Vietnam was tirelessly looking for opportunities, when in the last 20 minutes of the match, Coach Roland's entire squad rushed to put pressure. However, facing the tight organization of U.17 Kyrgyzstan, Mr. Roland's students could not even approach the penalty area, let alone create opportunities. In the 90+3 minute, Tran Gia Bao's shot missed the post near the edge of the penalty area, ending the disappointing match of U.17 Vietnam.

Stuck in scoring, U.17 Vietnam drew 0-0 with U.17 Kyrgyzstan and finished second in the group after the final round. At 7:00 p.m. on October 25, U.17 Vietnam will face U.17 Myanmar.

To win a ticket to the final round, U.17 Vietnam needs to try harder.
