With the foundation of Sepak Takraw and careful investment, the Thai teqball team dominated the 2024 World Teqball Championship in the respect of strong opponents from Hungary, Brazil, Poland, Romania... Meanwhile, the Vietnamese teqball team is still young, so they mainly participate in the tournament to test themselves, learn, and gain experience.

Romania's Apor Gyorgydeak was the gold medalist in the men's singles event while Hungary, the birthplace of teqball , did not win any gold medals. The Thai teqball team created a shock when they won 4 gold medals in the women's singles (Jutatip Kuntatong), women's doubles (Kuntatong/Suphawadi Wongkhamchan), men's doubles (Jirati Chanliang/Sorrasak Thaosiri) and mixed doubles (Wongkhamchan/Dejaroen).

Coach of the Vietnamese teqball team Le Quang Khang said that the success of the Thai teqball team was thanks to the use of rattan techniques. The skillful handling, especially the technique of jumping and hooking the ball to finish the rattan ball when applied to teqball is very effective. Most of the Thai teqball team switched from rattan.

Thailand, which is also the host of the 33rd SEA Games in 2025, has included teqball in its official competition schedule. With what was shown at this world championship in Ho Chi Minh City, the Thai teqball team will have no opponents at the upcoming SEA Games. The Vietnamese teqball team can learn from Thailand's success because we also have a strong sepak takraw movement, having won the ASIAD gold medal.

After successfully hosting the world teqball championship, the International Teqball Federation (FITEQ) decided to give Ho Chi Minh City 1,000 teqball tables and a training package worth 5 million euros. This is an opportunity for Ho Chi Minh City in particular and Vietnam in general to develop a sport that has only been around for 10 years but is attractive and appealing to fans.
