Quang Dung's real name is Thai Van Dung, from Quy Nhon, Binh Dinh. In 1997, he participated in the Binh Dinh Television Singing Contest and won second prize. In 1998, Quang Dung was appointed by the provincial Department of Culture to represent the Central Highlands - Central Vietnam Singing Contest in Hue and won a gold medal. After that, he went to Ho Chi Minh City to sing in tea rooms, becoming famous for his deep voice and elegant style. In addition to singing, the artist acted in the second part of the movie "Gải đi" (Dancing Girl) directed by Quang Dung. He married Miss Jennifer Pham and had a son, Bao Nam, in 2008, but divorced a year later.
