BTO-The Ho Chi Minh City Traditional Boat Racing Championship ended on August 5 with the first prize for the entire team belonging to Binh Thanh District (HCMC), the second prize belonging to Quang Binh Province, and the third prize belonging to Binh Thuan Province.
The tournament was attended by 25 units, more than 650 athletes from departments, branches, social organizations, Thu Duc City Sports Center, districts, armed forces units of the Police, Army in the city and provinces /cities: An Giang, Binh Thuan , Da Nang, Dong Nai, Nghe An, Quang Binh . The tournament attracted thousands of people to cheer at Pier No. 4 (Thu Ngu flagpole) , District 1 (HCMC) .
Binh Thuan team participated in the A class competition, 500 meter start, 20 boat and 12 boat. In which they won 1 gold medal, Binh Thuan ranked third overall.
The Ho Chi Minh City Traditional Boat Racing Championship is an annual sporting event held to create conditions for traditional boat racing athletes to compete, learn from experience, enhance understanding, exchange and solidarity between Thu Duc city, districts and units participating in the tournament .
The Ho Chi Minh City Traditional Boat Racing Championship is an activity in the series of the 1st Ho Chi Minh City River Festival in 2023 , contributing to the development of typical tourism products in Ho Chi Minh City. Through experiential activities on the river , promote widespread propaganda in the community to join hands to protect the environment of canals and rivers in Ho Chi Minh City, contributing to building the image of Ho Chi Minh City as a destination "Attractive - Vibrant - Modern".
