A working delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development inspected the operation of Yen Nghia Pumping Station. This is a key project of Hanoi , implemented since 2015.
The project aims to help drain more than 6,000 hectares of agricultural production, support drainage for Ha Dong district, Hoai Duc district, Dan Phuong district and part of Nam Tu Liem district.
Following the program, the delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development visited and presented gifts to people in the flooded area on the right bank of the Bui River, Chuong My District. Hundreds of households are being evacuated at the headquarters of the Military Command of Nam Phuong Tien Commune.
After listening to reports from localities and units, Minister Le Minh Hoan requested units to deploy plans to protect key areas of weak dikes and dike sections at risk of erosion, seepage, landslides, and damaged old culverts; and promptly handle dike incidents in the first hours to ensure the safety of the dike system.
Minister Le Minh Hoan also requested Hanoi City to immediately deploy safety measures for people living in areas outside the riverbank, not allowing people to stay in dangerous areas; strengthen information and propaganda work to guide people on how to respond to rain, floods and inundation to proactively respond and minimize damage.
