Recently, after prolonged heavy rains, water stagnated along the roadside at the Dong Tam Snake Farm intersection in Kim Son commune and Trung An ward, Dong Thap province, due to the incomplete connection of the water collection/drainage system.

Faced with this situation, local people have been draining water themselves to avoid prolonged stagnant water affecting daily life. According to the current design, this area has not been built with a rainwater collection/drainage system.

After the field survey, Deputy Director of Dong Thap Department of Construction Phan Vinh Thanh said that the working group had identified water stagnation points, especially at the intersection of the road to Rach Mieu 2 bridge, provincial road 870 and district road 34. "The main reason is that there is no adequate water collection/drainage system, causing rainwater to accumulate and overflow into residential areas" - comrade Phan Vinh Thanh analyzed.
The representative of My Thuan Project Management Board also expressed high determination in overcoming this situation. "We are fully aware of our responsibility to the people. My Thuan Project Management Board will closely coordinate with the Department of Construction of Dong Thap province and related units to soon find the optimal solution, ensuring the legitimate rights of the people" - the representative of the Management Board affirmed.

Based on the actual survey, the two units agreed to propose treatment options, and will prioritize the construction of additional synchronous water collection/drainage systems to thoroughly solve the problem of water stagnation at intersections between roads.
The agreed plan is to add a drainage/collection ditch design and connect it to the existing drainage system of District Road 34 and Provincial Road 870 and arrange a drainage ditch along the left side of the route towards Xoai Hot Bridge. This is considered an urgent project and needs to be implemented quickly.
Deputy Director of the Department of Construction Phan Vinh Thanh affirmed that relevant units are urgently coordinating to soon come up with a specific implementation plan. We understand the difficulties of the people and are committed to quickly and decisively resolving this stagnant water situation.
My Thuan Project Management Board will closely coordinate with Dong Thap Province Department of Construction and related units to immediately handle these stagnant water points.
