On July 22, the Ministry of Education and Training issued a Decision to amend the training program standards on semiconductor microchips at undergraduate and master's levels.

In May, the Ministry of Education and Training required high school graduates who want to study bachelor's or engineering programs in semiconductor microchips, if they are admitted based on high school graduation exam results, to use a combination of math and at least one natural science subject suitable for the semiconductor microchip training program.

The total score of the subjects in the admission combination must reach at least 80% of the scale, for example, at least 24/30 for a combination of three subjects. In addition, the math score must reach at least 80% of the scale, for example, at least 8/10.

The new regulation on the adjusted score level, instead of the rigid regulation on the score level, has been changed to: "Belonging to the group of 25% of candidates with the highest scores in the admission subject combination nationwide and belonging to the group of 20% of candidates with the highest math scores nationwide (according to data published annually by the Ministry of Education and Training)".

Applicants who have a university degree are required to have a university degree appropriate to the training program they are applying for. The cumulative average score of the graduated training program must be from 2.8/4 or higher (or equivalent).

The subjects are students who are studying from other training programs transferring to the semiconductor microchip training program at the time of consideration, must have: The training program they are studying is suitable for the training program they are transferring to; Meet the prescribed conditions; Cumulative average score is from 2.5/4 or higher (or equivalent).

This Decision takes effect from the date of signing.

The above adjustment decision was made in the context of this year's high school graduation exam scores having clear fluctuations, especially in math scores.
