Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son speaks at a working session with the Department of Foreign Affairs of Dien Bien province.

In recent times, the Department of Foreign Affairs has regularly coordinated with the Consular Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs ; Vietnamese representative agencies abroad and provinces to update, grasp and promptly process information on foreign affairs activities. The Department has advised the Provincial People's Committee to allow the organization of 7 international conferences and seminars and the signing of 1 international agreement. The management of international conferences and seminars, the signing and implementation of international agreements in the province ensure compliance with the provisions of law. The work of mobilizing, attracting and managing foreign non-governmental aid continues to be maintained effectively.

The Department of Foreign Affairs recommends that the Minister of Foreign Affairs pay attention and have a separate mechanism for the Department of Foreign Affairs in the work of training and fostering cadres, especially young cadres who have the opportunity to practice and learn experience at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and at Vietnamese diplomatic agencies in Laos and China.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son acknowledged the achievements of the Department of Foreign Affairs in advising the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee on foreign affairs and international integration. The Minister of Foreign Affairs requested the Department of Foreign Affairs to continue to promote its role in advising the province on foreign affairs and economic development, promote infrastructure construction in border areas and border gates; continue to promote the local image in many diverse forms; promote the building of a professional, comprehensive, and modern Vietnamese diplomacy.

Previously, Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son and the delegation laid wreaths and offered incense to commemorate and pay tribute to heroic martyrs at the A1 Martyrs Cemetery; and visited the Dien Bien Phu Historical Victory Museum.
