Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien receives additional tasks

On behalf of the Prime Minister, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh signed Decision No. 1010 to establish the State-level Council to consider awarding the titles of "People's Artisan" and "Meritorious Artisan" in the field of handicrafts for the 5th time (the Council).

According to the decision, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien is the Chairman of the Council. The two Vice Chairmen of the Council are Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Phan Thi Thang and Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Trieu Van Cuong.

Council members include: Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy; Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Tran Thanh Nam; Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Ngo Duy Hieu; Cultural researcher Tran Lam Bien; General Secretary of the Vietnam Historical Science Association Duong Trung Quoc; Deputy Director of the Center for Research and Promotion of Cultural Heritage (Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association) Nguyen Van Huy; Former Principal of the University of Industrial Fine Arts Nguyen Van Dinh; President of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association Luong Xuan Doan.

The decision clearly states that the Council is responsible for assisting the Prime Minister in organizing the review and selection of individuals who meet the conditions and standards to submit to the Prime Minister for proposal to the President to decide on awarding the title of "People's Artisan" and "Meritorious Artisan" in the field of handicrafts for the 5th time.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade is the standing body of the Council. The Council has a Secretariat established by the Minister of Industry and Trade and is allowed to use the seal of the Ministry of Industry and Trade to handle its work.

The Council members and the Secretariat work part-time. The Council's operating regulations are decided by the Council Chairman.

The operating and awarding expenses of the Council are implemented according to the Government's regulations on awarding the titles of "People's Artisan" and "Meritorious Artisan" provided by the State budget within the operating expenses of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The Council dissolves itself upon completion of its mission.
