What personnel will the Vietnamese women's volleyball team use in the opening match of the SEA V.League?

Facing the opponent considered the weakest among the 4 teams participating in SEA V.League this year, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet left the number 1 hitter Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen out. The starting lineup of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team included Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Hoang Thi Kieu Trinh, Nguyen Thi Trinh, Vi Thi Nhu Quynh, Tran Thi Bich Thuy, Doan Thi Lam Oanh and libero Nguyen Khanh Dang.

The Indonesian team had the return of number 1 hitter Megawati, however the balance in the positions helped the Vietnamese girls create an overwhelming attacking game. The efforts of the Indonesian hitters only helped them create a few tug-of-wars against the Vietnamese team before losing with a score difference of 11/25.

The situation did not change in game 2 when Tran Thi Thanh Thuy and her teammates continued to dominate the game. In addition to Thanh Thuy, other players such as Bich Thuy, Kieu Trinh, and Nhu Quynh also had impressive scoring attacks, thanks to which the Vietnamese women's volleyball team continued to have a 25/11 victory.

In game 3, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet changed his squad by sending setter Kim Thoa and hitters like Nguyen Thi Uyen and Le Thanh Thuy onto the field. The Indonesian team's efforts and the lack of cohesion in the Vietnamese team's attack and defense caused Kim Thoa and her teammates to be surpassed by their opponents with a score of 21/19. A crucial meeting and reasonable adjustments by coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet helped the Vietnamese team quickly equalize 21/21 and then rise to win 25/22, closing out the overall victory of 3-0.

At 1:30 p.m. tomorrow (August 2), the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will compete in the second round of the first round of the SEA V.League, against the Philippines team.

The 2025 SEA V.League Volleyball Tournament is divided into 2 stages, including stage 1 in Thailand from August 1 to 3 and stage 2 in Ninh Binh from August 8 to 10. The tournament attracts the participation of the 4 strongest teams in the region, namely Thailand (reigning champion), Vietnam (runner-up) along with Indonesia and the Philippines. The Thai team (ranked 20th in the world ) and the Vietnamese team (ranked 27th in the world ) are expected to compete fiercely for the championship title.
