Con Dao island district belongs to Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, about 185 km from the mainland, is an isolated area in the middle of the ocean, transportation is difficult, especially during the rainy season, so health care for people, officers, soldiers and tourists is always one of the big challenges for the locality.

The list of medical equipment sponsored by BSR includes many modern items, serving paraclinical work, infection control and treatment of seriously ill patients such as: RO water system used in blood filtration, artificial kidney machine, filter washing machine used in blood filtration, CT Scanner system under 64 slices, mobile X-ray machine, biochemical and immunological testing system, HbA1C testing machine, blood coagulation meter, equipment for washing and drying instruments, medical supplies and chemicals,... with a total value of about 20 billion VND sponsored by BSR.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Viet Thang - General Director of BSR expressed his emotion and honor to accompany and contribute to the healthcare work for the people, cadres, and armed forces living and working on this sacred island district. "Con Dao is a special revolutionary place - a place of much pain during the war, but also a symbol of steadfast and indomitable will. Supporting medical equipment today is part of the responsibility and affection of the collective of BSR workers towards the historical land, towards the people of Con Dao," Mr. Thang shared.
Receiving the meaningful sponsorship, Doctor Le Cong Tho - Director of the Con Dao District Military Medical Center said: The Con Dao District Military Medical Center is currently the only medical unit on the island, responsible for medical examination and treatment for residents, fishermen, officers and soldiers and hundreds of thousands of tourists each year. However, the facilities and medical equipment are still lacking, outdated and unsynchronized. In addition, the medical human resources are still limited, while the work pressure is increasing due to the growing population and number of tourists. Therefore, the sponsorship of modern medical equipment by BSR is of special practical significance, not only contributing to improving the professional capacity of the unit, but also helping the Center promptly handle complicated cases, reducing the pressure of transferring hospitals to the mainland, contributing to ensuring health care for the people, maintaining the medical situation to serve the tasks of national defense - security, economy - society in the island district at the forefront of the Fatherland.
