"After 16 years of commitment, central defender Bui Tien Dung continues to commit his future to the army team with a new contract until 2027," The Cong - Viettel Club announced on the afternoon of June 26, a few hours before the National Cup semi-final match with the Hanoi Police team.
Sharing on the day of his contract renewal, the player from Ha Tinh said: "The Cong - Viettel is not only a football team, but also a part of Dung's flesh and blood. After 16 years with the club, Dung has always clearly felt the trust from the leadership, teammates and fans. Dung pledges to continue to strive to inspire, lead the younger generation and work with the team towards higher goals."
Continuing to stay not only shows Bui Tien Dung's determination to contribute to the team, but is also a reward for the loyalty of one of the best players of The Cong - Viettel.

Bui Tien Dung was born in 1995, from Ha Tinh, and grew up at Viettel training center. He is a key member of the generation that won the 2018 First Division Championship with Hoang Duc and Trong Dai.
Entering the V-League in 2019, Bui Tien Dung and his teammates only took 1 year to win the championship. In 2020, along with the national championship title, the captain of The Cong - Viettel was also honored with the Vietnam Silver Ball award.
At the national team level, Bui Tien Dung has contributed a lot to the titles of U23 and Vietnam national team such as runner-up of U23 Asia 2018, fourth place of ASIAD 2018, champion of AFF Cup 2018 and ASEAN Cup 2024.
