It can be seen that when provinces are merged, the difference in test scores between provinces creates fluctuations in rankings. For example, the old Bac Ninh province had an average math score of over 5, but when it merged with Bac Giang, the average math score dropped below 5.

A similar case is Da Nang, the old Da Nang city had an average math score of 5.175. After merging with Quang Nam with an average score of only 4.639 in this examination council, the new Da Nang city has a math score below 5.

Previously, the Ministry of Education and Training announced the math score distribution with a record high of 10 and a record high of failing scores, 513 and 777, respectively.

Of the more than 1.12 million candidates taking the math exam under the new general education program, 635,102 candidates had math scores below average (below 5), accounting for 56.39%.

In 2024, this figure will be only 17.49%.

From 7 points and above, there were 137,741 candidates passing, accounting for 12.23%. This figure last year was 45.23%.

The highest score a candidate achieved was 4.75. Last year the common score was 7.6.
