The training class lacked familiar figures.

On the morning of August 5, while the family was holding a funeral for referee Tran Dinh Thinh in his hometown of Dinh Quan commune (Dong Nai province), the referee and supervisor training class at the headquarters of the Vietnam Football Federation ( Hanoi ) held a minute of silence to commemorate their recently deceased colleague.

The training course began on August 2nd to prepare for the new season. Referee Tran Dinh Thinh and his colleagues attended the course to update their knowledge and check their physical fitness, preparing for the upcoming domestic tournaments. Referee Tran Dinh Thinh’s last notes in the souvenir notebook were written on the morning of the opening of the course. Sadly, he was unable to complete the training course as planned.

Referee Tran Dinh Thinh was always loved by his colleagues and everyone because of his dedication, seriousness in work and his generous and enthusiastic personality in life. Therefore, as soon as they received the sad news, many relatives, friends, colleagues and neighbors joined the family to arrange the funeral for the unfortunate referee.

Colleagues will travel from North to South to see off referee Tran Dinh Thinh.

Colleagues will bid farewell to referee Tran Dinh Thinh

It is expected that on the evening of August 6, a 16-seat car will take about 15 referees and supervisors to Dinh Quan to bid farewell to referee Tran Dinh Thinh. The training course was supposed to end on August 7, but out of respect for their late colleague, the referees and supervisors decided to adjust the time. The class will end at 2:00 p.m. on August 6 and the referees and supervisors will leave for Dong Nai in the afternoon of the same day. They want to spend one last night with their respected colleague.

On the morning of August 7, another 16-seat car will pick up Mr. Duong Nghiep Khoi - former General Secretary of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), along with supervisors and head referees to Dinh Quan to bid farewell to referee Tran Dinh Thinh to his final resting place.

VFF and Vietnam Football Joint Stock Company (VPF) have announced that they will coordinate with the family to organize a full and thoughtful funeral, as a deep gratitude for the silent but valuable contributions of referee Tran Dinh Thinh to Vietnamese football.

Next season, Vietnam's football field will be missing a familiar "king in black" - the one who has been persistently running for more than ten years on all large and small fields from North to South. Even though his legs have stopped running, the values that referee Tran Dinh Thinh left behind will live forever in the hearts of his colleagues and those who love Vietnamese football.
