Although only about 1 km long, Nguyen Tuan Street (Thanh Xuan District, Hanoi ) carries dozens of apartment buildings with about 6,000 apartments. It is expected that on October 14-15, the government will forcibly reclaim the land to widen the road.
The project to renovate and expand Nguyen Tuan Street was approved for expansion on August 31, 2018. According to the approval of the starting point of the project at the intersection of Nguyen Trai Street, the end point to Lane 162 Nguyen Tuan, 720 m long, will be expanded on the basis of the existing road. The road has a cross-section of 21 m, including a 15 m wide roadway and 3 m wide sidewalks. According to Thanh Xuan District People's Committee, the project was approved for investment in 2018 and the construction drawing design was approved in 2020. However, since then, because many households did not agree with the compensation and relocation support plan, the project has not been implemented. Recently, Thanh Xuan District People's Committee issued Decision No. 2527/QD-UBND on approving the plan to organize the implementation of forced land recovery in cases of non-compliance with the handover of land to implement the expansion project according to the planning of Nguyen Tuan Street.
According to the Decision, 2,479.64 m2 of land and constructions on the land of 84 households and individuals who did not agree to receive money and hand over the land to implement the project of renovating and expanding Nguyen Tuan Street according to the planning will be forcibly recovered. In the photo, the households on the left side of the photo are the area where the land will be forcibly recovered to expand Nguyen Tuan Street.
Enforced volume: 84 constructions of households and individuals were demolished (44 constructions were revoked and completely dismantled; 40 cases were partially cut, of which 16/40 cases had remaining areas that did not meet the conditions for existence and had to be completely demolished).
Currently, many households in the forced eviction area hang banners protesting the land acquisition decisions of Thanh Xuan District People's Committee.
Mr. Dat (one of the households that was forced to move) said, "We will voluntarily relocate if we are compensated properly. "The current status of my land was allocated before 1993, and we have not been granted a land use right certificate. The government only supports 6.4 - 9.6 million VND/m2 and buys resettlement houses in Hoang Mai district at preferential prices. However, if I want to have resettlement houses, I still have to pay more than 1 billion VND. This is too much money for me," Mr. Dat said indignantly.
Also according to the records, along Nguyen Tuan street, there are many shops selling goods and cooking utensils. The goods and cooking utensils displayed by the business owners occupy the sidewalk, causing loss of urban beauty.
Especially when large vehicles like two buses pass by at the same time, congestion is inevitable, motorbikes have no way to go.
The section from lane 162 Nguyen Tuan to the intersection with Nguyen Huy Tuong street is always congested during rush hour. During off-peak hours, the traffic volume is still quite heavy.
To limit traffic congestion, the road only allows cars to travel in one direction (except buses).
The section from Lane 162 Nguyen Tuan to the intersection with Le Van Luong Street has been widened since 2003 to facilitate traffic. It is expected that on October 14-15, the government will organize compulsory land reclamation for 84 cases that do not comply with the handover of land to implement the Nguyen Tuan Street expansion project.
