Electrical safety warning during storm season

Storms pose many potential risks to electrical safety. To protect lives and property and ensure stable power supply, the Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC) recommends that people should not be subjective about the developments of storm No. 3 (WIPHA); and take measures to ensure electrical safety.

Electrical safety warning during storm season

Following the direction of the Northern Power Corporation, Phu Tho Power Company recommends: people, agencies and businesses to seriously implement electrical safety measures before - during - after the storm. Before the storm: Check and reinforce the electrical system in the house and workplace; turn off unnecessary electrical equipment; avoid placing electrical outlets and equipment in places at risk of being exposed to rain and flooding.

During a storm: Do not stand near power poles, fallen trees, or outdoor electrical equipment; do not use electrical equipment with wet hands or in wet places; turn off the main power supply if the house is at risk of flooding.

After the storm: Absolutely do not touch broken or fallen power lines - immediately call hotline 1900 6769; only turn the power back on when there is safety confirmation from the electricity industry or authorities.

When detecting a broken wire, fallen pole, landslide, risk of causing a power grid problem or needing support for electricity services, customers should immediately notify and contact the Customer Care Center - Northern Power Corporation 19006769 (24/7) for timely support and resolution. EVNNPC and local power units are on duty 24/7 to promptly handle the problem, ensure safety and restore power as soon as possible after the storm.
