Some students in Quang Nam went online to buy Kumanthong dolls to worship at home, and bought cakes, candies, and milk to 'feed' them in hopes of good luck and good grades. According to the police, this is an extremely dangerous superstitious activity.

The Department of Education and Training of Quang Nam province has sent an official dispatch to the departments of education and training and schools to strengthen security work in schools.

According to this department, through the investigation of the Quang Nam Provincial Police, there is currently a situation in the province where some students go on social networking sites to buy Kumanthong dolls to worship at home, buy cakes, candies, milk and soft drinks to "feed" them with the aim of praying for luck and good study.

Bad guys have taken advantage of students' gullibility, curiosity, and lack of knowledge to lure them into believing and buying dolls.

This is an extremely dangerous superstitious activity, causing confusion and fear, creating bad consequences for the students themselves, their families and society.

The Department requires heads of units to strengthen propaganda and education work to raise awareness among students.

Do not let people take advantage of or entice students into participating in illegal activities. Resolutely do not let students participate in superstitious activities and illegal religious activities.

In addition, promptly grasp the situation of students, coordinate to provide information to the police when detecting related incidents.

Previously, Quang Nam Provincial Police sent a document to the Department of Education and Training of this province requesting coordination to ensure security in educational institutions.

Police discovered that some students were buying Kumanthong dolls on social media. This doll is a form of superstition originating from Thailand, rumored to have many supernatural spiritual powers, bringing luck and fortune to the owner and has spread to Vietnam.
