On the evening of March 1, the Traffic Police Department said that on the first day the police organized to receive applications for driver's license renewal, localities received 391 applications, of which 344 were received directly and 47 applications were received on the Public Service Portal.

Mr. Doan Huu Cuong (residing in Ha Dong, Hanoi) came to do the procedure to upgrade his driving license from B1 to C1.

"The entire time from submitting the application, taking photos to receiving the appointment paper only took about 5 minutes, I found it very quick and convenient," Mr. Cuong commented.

After completing the procedures and paying the prescribed fees, people will receive a notice to return their driving license. Within 3 working days, people will receive an electronic driving license via VNeID; 2 days later, they will receive a hard copy of the driving license.

From next week, the police force will widely announce the organization of receiving documents on Saturdays to create favorable conditions for people.

According to the Traffic Police Department, administrative procedures for issuing and exchanging driving licenses will not change when the transfer is made between the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Public Security .

People can carry out the procedures for issuing and exchanging driving licenses as usual at direct reception points and the public service administration website (https://dvc4.gplx.gov.vn/).

Previously, at the handover ceremony of state management of testing and granting driving licenses from the Ministry of Transport to the Ministry of Public Security, Lieutenant General Nguyen Ngoc Lam, Deputy Minister of Public Security, said that the Ministry will organize and implement this work in a scientific, effective and uninterrupted manner; ensure fairness and transparency in the process of testing and granting driving licenses; at the same time, continuously promote the application of information technology, digitize administrative procedure reform to create the most favorable conditions for people at home and abroad.
