Highlights of activities celebrating the 80th anniversary of the People's Public Security Traditional Day

At the press conference, Major General Nguyen Cong Bay, Deputy Director of the Department of Political Work (Ministry of Public Security) said that recently, a series of major events of the People's Public Security force have taken place.

"The general spirit of all programs is innovation, creativity, and practicality, clearly demonstrating the modernity, discipline, eliteness, and strength of the People's Public Security force. At the same time, the programs are organized in a way that is close to the people, so that people can participate in direct exchanges and conversations, and stand side by side with the People's Public Security force," Major General Nguyen Cong Bay emphasized.

Typical examples include the Gala music program Glory of the People's Public Security of Vietnam and a series of activities in the Hoan Kiem Lake area on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the People's Public Security studying and implementing the Six Teachings of Uncle Ho; at Nguyen Hue walking street on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of Uncle Ho's call for patriotic emulation. With 35,000 participants, the gala music night "Glory of the People's Public Security of Vietnam" on June 8, 2025 at Nguyen Hue walking street set a Vietnamese record as the event with the largest number of participants in the flag-raising ceremony and singing the National Anthem in Vietnam to date.

Regarding social security activities, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Public Security, the police units and localities proactively coordinated with sponsors to actively organize social security activities, charity, medical examination and treatment, and free medicine distribution for people in difficult circumstances in the localities.

Specifically, from the beginning of 2025 to now, the entire force has mobilized donations of 362 billion VND to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in 2 provinces (Cao Bang and Gia Lai) according to the Government's program; at the same time, mobilizing social resources to build 3,344 houses with a cost of more than 210 billion VND in localities.

In the first six months of 2025, the People's Public Security Comradeship Fund spent over 54 billion VND to build and repair gratitude houses; provide subsidies and support for officers and soldiers facing sudden difficulties; give gifts to families with meritorious services and other gratitude activities.

Political and social organizations in the People's Public Security organize political activities, social security, gratitude, visits, gift giving, free medical examination and treatment and house donation for Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroes of the Armed Forces, grassroots security and order forces, policy families, people with meritorious services to the revolution and union members and members in difficult circumstances.

Recently, the Ministry of Public Security has organized a series of events such as: organizing a national scientific conference to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the People's Public Security Traditional Day and the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection (held on August 4, 2025 at the Ministry of Public Security Headquarters, 30 Tran Binh Trong, Hanoi); Organizing the 9th "For National Security" Emulation Congress in the People's Public Security (held on August 6, 2025, at Ho Guom Theater, Hanoi)...

The Ministry of Public Security is also organizing the exhibition “Vietnam People’s Public Security - 80 years for a peaceful life” to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the People’s Public Security Traditional Day and the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection (exhibition from August 5 to September 14, at the Hanoi Museum); an international exhibition on fire prevention and fighting, rescue techniques and equipment, and security and safety equipment...

In the near future, the Ministry of Public Security will organize the World Police Music Festival from August 9 to 10 at Hoan Kiem Lake for people to directly participate; organize the inauguration ceremony of the Ministry of Public Security Headquarters, No. 44 Yet Kieu, Hanoi and the groundbreaking ceremony of the Ministry of Public Security Headquarters, No. 15 Tran Binh Trong, Hanoi; and put up signs for a number of key projects to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the People's Public Security Traditional Day and the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection (expected to be held in early August 2025).

In addition, there are the "Peaceful Festival" programs including a series of cultural, artistic and sports activities (held from August 16-19, at the Hoan Kiem Lake walking street, Hanoi); the walking event "Moving Forward with Vietnam" (held on August 16, 2025, at the Hoan Kiem Lake walking street, Hanoi); the 10th year "Independence Star 2025" art program to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2...

Also at the press conference, Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To, Deputy Minister of Public Security, said that implementing Decision No. 280/QD-TTg dated April 4, 2024 of the Prime Minister approving the Project on organizing activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the People's Public Security Traditional Day and the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection, the Central Public Security Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security have directed the Public Security of units and localities to actively implement in accordance with the set programs and plans.

Up to now, 44 commemorative activities have been organized; ensuring effectiveness, focus, key points, depth and profound political significance; recognized and highly appreciated by leaders of the Party, State, Committees, ministries and people.

From now until August 19, there will be a peak of activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the People's Public Security Traditional Day and the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection with nearly 40 events of great political significance to the Public Security sector, especially the upcoming National Anniversary.

The Ministry of Public Security hopes that press agencies will pay attention, coordinate closely, and have specific and practical communication plans to widely propagate and disseminate the commemorative activities, thereby contributing to political and ideological education, raising awareness and actions of officers and soldiers; strengthening patriotism and national pride, contributing to strengthening the flesh-and-blood relationship between the People's Public Security force and the people; at the same time, raising public awareness of security and crime prevention and control, demonstrating the strength and potential of the People's Public Security force, firmly protecting national security and social order and safety.

At the press conference, functional units of the Ministry of Public Security exchanged and informed about the specific results of the commemorative activities and the key content, schedule of upcoming events as well as coordination between the public security sector and press agencies to effectively carry out information and communication work on the series of events commemorating the 80th anniversary of the People's Public Security Force's traditional day and the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection./.
