Phong Chau pontoon bridge ( Phu Tho province) will be maintained in operation throughout New Year's Eve to serve people to enjoy spring and welcome the Lunar New Year.
The Engineering Corps ( Ministry of National Defense ) has just announced that it will maintain the operation of Phong Chau pontoon bridge from 9:00 p.m. on January 28 (ie December 29, Giap Thin year) to 5:00 a.m. on January 29 (ie January 1, At Ty year 2025).
This is to create conditions for people in Tam Nong and Lam Thao districts (Phu Tho province) to cross the pontoon bridge to celebrate spring and New Year's Eve.

During this time, inland waterway vehicles will be temporarily not allowed to pass through the Phong Chau pontoon bridge area to ensure traffic safety and pontoon bridge operation.
On other days, the bridge operates from 6am to 10pm daily according to previously issued regulations.
Phong Chau pontoon bridge was installed by the Corps of Engineers on September 30, 2024, after the collapse of Phong Chau bridge span on the morning of September 9, 2024.
The pontoon bridge was installed about 400m downstream from the collapsed Phong Chau bridge, helping people in Tam Nong, Thanh Thuy, Lam Thao districts, Viet Tri city... to travel more easily, without having to go around Ngoc Thap bridge, which is 40-50km further.
The new Phong Chau Bridge is currently under construction by the 12th Army Corps (Ministry of National Defense).
