The Vietnam Football Federation's Disciplinary Board announced penalties for Hanoi and Nam Dinh clubs in round 11 of V-League 2023 due to the burning of flares.

Specifically, Hanoi FC paid a fine of 20 million VND for letting spectators light flares. The visiting team Nam Dinh also paid a fine of 15 million VND for letting their fans light flares.

This is the second time this season that Hanoi FC has had to pay a fine for this situation. The previous fine was in round 5 when Hanoi FC hosted Hai Phong at Hang Day Stadium. Although Hanoi FC deployed security measures and checked the belongings of spectators before entering the stadium, flares still appeared.

Hanoi FC was fined for allowing away team fans to set off flares.

In addition to the two penalties above, the Disciplinary Board of the Vietnam Football Federation also fined Hong Linh Ha Tinh Club 2 million VND because 5 players received yellow cards in the match against Binh Dinh Club.

After round 11, the 2023 V-League national championship will take a break to make way for the Vietnam national team's training session. Unlike the previous two breaks, this third break falls on FIFA Days. Clubs are obliged to release players for the national team to participate in friendly matches with Hong Kong and Syria.

On the rankings, Thanh Hoa Club is leading with 22 points. The two teams ranked closely behind are Hanoi Police Club and Hanoi, with a gap of 1 and 3 points respectively. These are also the 3 teams that are certain to be in the championship group in the second phase. Meanwhile, Da Nang Club is certain to fall into the relegation group. Ho Chi Minh City Club and Binh Duong Club are likely to be in this group as well.

The organizers will choose 8 championship teams and 6 relegation teams. There are 2 more rounds in the first phase. V-League 2023 matches will return from June 23.
