On July 26, Le Van Thinh Hospital launched the “Club for patients with chronic kidney disease, dialysis and diabetes”. Nearly 500 patients with the above diseases attended the program.

According to Dr. Tu Kim Thanh, Head of the Department of Nephrology and Dialysis, Le Van Thinh Hospital, the club is a place for patients and medical staff to share in a friendly manner, both improving knowledge and supporting spirit.

The event also includes practical support activities, listening to the sharing of relatives, and connecting the patient community. The goal is to provide comprehensive care for patients, prevent serious progression from afar and early. From there, improve the quality of life for patients, and prevent patients from falling into a deadlock.

This is the foundation of the "Companionship and Comprehensive Care" program between Le Van Thinh Hospital and ASIF Foundation, focusing on people and multidisciplinary care.

The care contents are deployed synchronously to the satellite unit of Le Van Thinh Hospital located at Can Gio Medical Center. Currently, there are about 40 patients undergoing hemodialysis at this unit.

Meanwhile, Le Van Thinh Hospital manages about 250 patients on dialysis, some of whom are over 100 years old.

In the coming time, the Chronic Kidney Disease, Dialysis and Diabetes Patient Club of Le Van Thinh Hospital will expand on a digital platform, reaching patients more widely and effectively.

"We hope the club is a common home for sharing and empathy, where patients can listen and understand the experiences of those in the same situation," said Dr. Tu Kim Thanh.
