On the evening of November 11, a factory in an alley on Be Van Cam Street (District 7, Ho Chi Minh City) caught fire fiercely, the red flames engulfed the factory, burning down many properties. About 100 police officers were mobilized to put out the fire.
At around 7pm on November 11, smoke and fire rose from a row of warehouses in an alley on Be Van Cam Street, Tan Kieng Ward (near Tan Thuan 1 Bridge). People nearby and factory employees tried to put out the fire, but were unsuccessful. The fire quickly flared up, with a column of smoke dozens of metres high that could be seen from several kilometres away.
Upon receiving the news, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department mobilized about 100 officers, soldiers and many fire fighting vehicles to the scene, approaching the fire from many directions, spraying water on the fire. Two boats and ships of the force on the river were also mobilized to put out the fire. Due to the heat radiating from the fire and the thick smoke, the fire fighting work encountered many difficulties.
By 9:50 p.m. the same day, the authorities had basically controlled the fire, preventing it from spreading to the surrounding area. Initial determination was that the warehouse was about 17,000 square meters wide, containing many flammable materials such as office equipment (computers), electronic equipment, candy, bottled water of all kinds, cardboard boxes, etc., so the fire flared up fiercely, burning about 2,000 square meters. Fortunately, the fire did not cause any human casualties and protected about 15,000 square meters of the remaining area of the company.
