Accordingly, the price of battery replacement has increased by $20. Specifically, according to Apple's iPhone Service & Repair page, battery replacement for iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max is $119 (up $20 compared to previous 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max models). However, battery replacement under AppleCare+ will still be free if the battery is below 80% capacity.
Battery replacements for the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus remain at $99. All four iPhone 16 models feature larger batteries and a new internal design for better heat dissipation.
Apple is said to have used metal casting instead of the traditional foil inside the batteries of the 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max which is said to have led to higher battery replacement prices.
Previously, when the iPhone 14 was launched, Apple increased the battery replacement fee from $69 to $99 and then increased it from $69 to $89 for older models.
