The Vietnam Register said it is sharing vehicle registration database with traffic police to strengthen control and handle violations.

The Vietnam Register said that at the request of the Ministry of Public Security, this agency is coordinating with the Traffic Police Department and the Technical Department to share inspection data and images of inspected vehicles.

Thereby, serving the management, control of vehicles and handling of violations in the field of road traffic order and safety.

The Vietnam Register is sharing inspection data and images of inspected vehicles with the Traffic Police Department to serve vehicle management, control and violation handling (illustrative photo).

According to a representative of a vehicle inspection center in Hanoi , sharing vehicle data, especially images of inspected vehicles, will help improve the effectiveness of inspection and control by the force on duty on the road.

Through this data, the authorities can not only detect whether the vehicle's registration is valid or expired, whether the registration is fake or real, but can also compare the actual vehicle image with the vehicle image at the time of the most recent inspection, thereby easily detecting "modified" or enlarged vehicles.

To ensure that the data shared by the Vietnam Register with the Traffic Police Department is accurate, the Register has strictly prohibited inspection units, inspectors and professional staff from arbitrarily accessing, updating and adding data on current technical parameters and original technical parameters of vehicles to the inspection database in violation of regulations, without basis and inconsistent with vehicle records.

For motor vehicles that are granted an inspection certificate, the technical specifications must be consistent with the technical documents and vehicle records. The image of the vehicle on the Inspection Certificate must be an actual image of the vehicle at the specified time and consistent with the image of the vehicle records.

In case the truck has an extended side or cargo box that is different from the vehicle's inspection records, the Vietnam Register requires the inspection unit to inspect, evaluate and issue a notice of failure. At the same time, it must log in to the motor vehicle warning software so that inspection centers nationwide can grasp the information when inspecting this vehicle and pay more attention when inspecting the vehicle.

Notably, the Department of Registration also requires registration units in this case to notify the local traffic police to coordinate inspection, handling, and prevention of overloaded trucks that damage road infrastructure and pose potential traffic safety risks.

The inspection unit must also compile statistics on cases of trucks with extended walls and cargo containers that are different from the vehicle's inspection records, and report to the local Department of Transport and the Vietnam Register.
