Media industry benchmarks have been steadily increasing over the past three years.

(Dan Tri) - In recent years, the media industry has often been in the top of the industries with high admission scores at many universities.

As the cradle of journalism and communication, the Academy of Journalism and Communication is always at the forefront with high admission scores that tend to increase steadily over the years. To win a place here, candidates need to achieve very good results in the high school graduation exam.

Specifically, with many admission combinations such as C15 (literature, history, geography), D01 (math, literature, English), A16 (math, physics, literature), the standard score for the communication industry in general of the Academy is from 26 points or more. This means that, on average, each subject, candidates need to achieve at least 8.67 points (not including priority points and other factors).

The Multimedia Communication Department of the Academy of Journalism and Communication recorded continuous growth: from 26.75 (C15), 26.68 (A16), 27.25 (D01) in 2022, to 28.25 - 26.5 - 27 points respectively in 2024.

The mass media industry also showed steady growth, from 26.55 (D01), 26.05 (A16), 27.77 (C15) in 2022, inching up to 26.8 - 26.3 - 28.05 in 2024, respectively.

Notably, in 2024, the Academy of Journalism and Communication added the subject group A01 (math, physics, English) for candidates applying for both multimedia and mass communication majors.

The benchmark score of this new combination also fluctuates from 26.8 to 27 points, a not small number, proving that the attraction of the industry lies not only in traditional combinations but also spreads to natural sciences and foreign languages.

For the international media industry (on a 40-point scale), the benchmark score has always remained very high, fluctuating around 35.99 - 36.06 points, showing particularly fierce competition in this industry.

Vietnam Women's Academy also recorded a slight increase in the benchmark score from 24 points in 2022 to 26 points in 2024, reflecting the growing interest of candidates in the media industry at this school.

Another option worth considering is the Institute of Posts and Telecommunications Technology (North), with a fairly stable benchmark score of around 26 points, suitable for those who want to pursue communications combined with technology.

Meanwhile, in the Southern region, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City National University, has maintained a stable high standard score for the multimedia communications major, fluctuating around 27.1 points (D01), 27.55 points (D14) and 27.25 points (D15).

On average, candidates must score over 9 points for each subject to be admitted, a level of competition that is not inferior to that of schools in the North.

Interest in the media industry has also spread to other provinces and cities. Can Tho University recorded a slight increase in the benchmark score for the multimedia industry from 24.75 points in 2022 to 24.94 points in 2024.

Besides the top schools with extremely high admission scores, there are still many opportunities for candidates with average academic performance.

Schools such as Van Lang University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance, Nguyen Tat Thanh University, Hong Bang International University, Van Hien University, Gia Dinh University... often have lower standard scores, ranging from 15 to 20 points.

This opens the door for many young people who are passionate about the media industry but have not achieved high scores in the high school graduation exam.

The media industry remains hot in the digital society, meeting the high demand for content and interaction. Therefore, it is expected to continue to be an attractive choice for the 2025 admissions season.
