What is special is that these open classes are taught directly by Professor Richardot Valérie Ginette, Head of the Department of Languages, University of Technology Hauts-de-France, who traveled from the far northern part of France.
The class is organized according to the needs and abilities of each group of students with open activities, under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Richardot Valérie Ginette and assistant teacher Ms. Pham Thuy Ngoc, President of the Vietnam - France Bridge Association, a consultant for studying abroad in France.

With the desire to improve her French communication skills, Nguyen Vo Nhu Quynh, class 12B1, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School (Ho Chi Minh City) traveled hundreds of kilometers to attend the class. Nhu Quynh said that she was supported by Professor Richardot Valérie Ginette, who corrected her pronunciation, learned the language through games, and "drifted" together with romantic French music melodies... "There are many places that teach French in Ho Chi Minh City, but the tuition is expensive, while this class is very interesting and free. After just one week, I was confident in conversing in French - something I was always afraid of before," Nhu Quynh shared.
Tran Minh Duc, an 11th grade English-French student at Nguyen Du High School for the Gifted (Tan An Ward), also found interest in the class. Although he has been studying French since grade 1, Duc admitted that he still lacked confidence in communicating. Thanks to the dedicated guidance and gentle teaching methods of Professor Richardot Valérie Ginette, he was motivated to perform better.
Student Truong Nguyen Que Chi, grade 9, Phan Chu Trinh Secondary School (Buon Ma Thuot ward) felt: "This class teaches more about listening skills, practicing vocabulary in speaking, thereby increasing students' language reflexes. This is something I and many friends really like."
In addition to the curriculum, students also learn about French culture, curriculum, and study abroad and student exchange programs between Vietnam and France. The number of students increases every day, showing the attraction of this special class. Ms. Pham Thuy Ngoc, President of Vietnam - France Bridge Association |
Prof. Dr. Richardot Valérie Ginette shared that she found that students in Buon Ma Thuot are very interested in French. Through practical lessons, it can be seen that students have a good grasp of grammar and vocabulary, however, there are certain limitations in practicing communication skills. Many students are afraid to speak French and this will be an obstacle in learning French. Students can learn more French language skills through songs, games, artificial intelligence (AI) applications, etc.
According to the plan, the French communication class will be held from July 17 to August 8, 2025 (4 sessions/day, 90 minutes/session). Each class has different lectures. In addition to learning the language, students will also learn about some related content about life in France; the curriculum of French students; study abroad programs, and student exchanges between Vietnam and France.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Linh Giang - Deputy Head of Foreign Language Department, Buon Ma Thuot High School shared: French communication class is a valuable opportunity for students to practice listening, speaking and applying French skills with native teachers. Thereby helping students better understand how to use French vocabulary and culture, creating an important stepping stone for them to be more confident on the journey to conquer this exciting language.
Professor, Dr. Richardot Valérie Ginette, Head of the Department of Languages, Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France, shares online connection with students. |
In addition to studying, many students come to this class to learn about studying abroad in France. Nguyen Thi Hoai Thuong, Buon Don High School (Ea Wer Commune) has registered for university entrance exam for French Language in 2025. Hoai Thuong is taking this class in the hope of strengthening her communication skills to prepare for the B1 French certificate exam to qualify to study abroad in France in the future.
According to Ms. Le Thi Thanh Xuan, Director of the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training, this is a practical learning model that both arouses passion and creates conditions for students to comprehensively develop their French skills. Students and teachers need to strengthen connections with lecturers to maintain and promote their ability to use French through group study, online learning, etc.
