According to the investigation results, in mid-2024, Dieu, a lottery ticket seller, went to a motel with a man living in Chau Thanh A district to "talk".
Here, Dieu used her phone to take pictures of the two people at the request of Dieu's husband, Nguyen Van Huyen.
Afraid that the incident would be exposed, the man gave Dieu 10 million VND, asking her to delete the photo and keep what happened a secret.
Dieu agreed, but then used the old story to blackmail the man.
At noon on February 16, when Huyen and her husband were receiving 30 million VND from the victim at a coffee shop in Mot Ngan town (Chau Thanh A district), Chau Thanh A district police raided and caught them red-handed.
During questioning, Dieu and Huyen admitted to their crimes. Both of them repeatedly extorted property from the victims, each time from 5 to 40 million VND, totaling 195 million VND. When they received the money, the two subjects spent it for personal use.
