Owner of the largest hotel in Da Lat was fined 110 million VND

Lam Dong The investor of the 5-star Merperle Dalat Hotel project was fined 110 million VND for exceeding the permitted floor area by 4,450 m2.

The decision to fine Khai Vy Joint Stock Company (investor) was issued by the People's Committee of Da Lat City on October 18.

The government requires the enterprise to stop construction of items without a construction permit and contact the competent authority to apply for a permit. After 90 days, if approval is not granted, the investor must dismantle all illegal constructions.

Merperle Dalat Hotel in the city center, the predecessor of the Saigon Moi Hotel project built in 2009. In 2018, Khai Vy Joint Stock Company received the transfer and built a 10-storey hotel, two basements, more than 400 5-star standard rooms, total investment of 1,000 billion VND, is in the completion stage. This is considered the largest hotel in Da Lat.

On October 11, the project was determined to have exceeded the permit by 4,450 m2 in the basements 1 and 2 and the roof. Previously, on August 18, the enterprise requested to adjust the project design by the excess construction area. Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee with this content, but requested the investor not to cut columns and beams, affecting the quality of the project.

The Department of Finance is assigned to coordinate with relevant departments and branches to request investors to fulfill financial obligations due to changes in project functions and increased construction area, and report to the Provincial People's Committee before October 2023.
