On June 20, Ho Chi Minh Museum, Ho Chi Minh City branch held the opening ceremony of a thematic exhibition with the theme "President Ho Chi Minh - Founder of Vietnamese Revolutionary Journalism."

The exhibition introduces more than 100 valuable documents and artifacts, including two main parts: “Journalist Nguyen Ai Quoc-Ho Chi Minh” and “President Ho Chi Minh - Founder and Trainer of Vietnamese Revolutionary Journalism.” This is an opportunity to review President Ho Chi Minh’s journalistic journey and affirm his special role in the birth and leadership of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Lien, Ho Chi Minh Museum, Ho Chi Minh City branch said: President Ho Chi Minh was not only a national liberation hero, an outstanding cultural figure, but also a great revolutionary journalist.

During his revolutionary career, President Ho Chi Minh founded 9 newspapers at home and abroad. He left behind more than 2,000 articles of all kinds, nearly 300 poems, nearly 500 pages of stories and memoirs, using about 182 pen names, writing in many languages such as Vietnamese, French, English, Russian, Chinese... At the same time, he also collaborated with many major foreign newspapers such as French, English, Russian, Chinese...

In particular, in 1925, at No. 13, Van Minh Street, Guangzhou, China, Nguyen Ai Quoc founded Thanh Nien Newspaper, the mouthpiece of the Vietnam Revolutionary Youth Association (Vietnam Revolutionary Youth Association). Thanh Nien Newspaper has the mission of spreading Marxism-Leninism, propagating the revolutionary path, and calling on the people to unite in the struggle. The newspaper plays an important role in preparing the theory, ideology, politics and organization for the birth of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and at the same time opens a new journalism stream - Vietnamese revolutionary journalism.

The thematic exhibition aims to introduce President Ho Chi Minh's pioneering role in founding Thanh Nien - Vietnam's first revolutionary newspaper and training the country's first generation of proletarian journalists.

At the same time, the exhibition also introduces his typical articles associated with each period of national history, from the August Revolution, the resistance war against French colonialism to the resistance war against the US. Thereby, affirming that our country's press is a vivid and heroic chronicle of the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Nhut, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, emphasized: The thematic exhibition "President Ho Chi Minh - Founder of Vietnam Revolutionary Press" has special significance, especially on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.

This is an opportunity for the team of Vietnamese revolutionary journalists to look back on the glorious past, evaluate the current situation and determine the development direction in the coming period, building a truly professional, humane and modern Vietnamese press, in line with the Party's direction and the development needs of society.

The thematic exhibition is a practical activity to honor the merits, thoughts, vision and precious journalism heritage left by President Ho Chi Minh, while at the same time inspiring, raising awareness and responsibility of journalists in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland today./.
