President successfully concludes third BRF visit to China

In Beijing, China, during his participation in the Belt and Road Summit, President Vo Van Thuong attended the solemn opening ceremony with the participation of more than 4,000 delegates from more than 140 countries and 30 international organizations, with more than 20 heads of state and government attending the Forum.

At this Forum, President Vo Van Thuong delivered a message affirming that Vietnam always supports initiatives that are beneficial to peace and development cooperation in the region and the world, including the Belt and Road Initiative initiated by China.

Discussing the topic: Digital economy - a new driving force for growth, the President shared that Vietnam attaches importance to connecting with the world on land, in the air, at sea, and in digital space and proposed cooperation on the digital economy based on three pillars: Digital institutions; digital infrastructure and digital human resources.

On the occasion of attending the Forum, the President had many meetings; met with many heads of state, heads of delegations of countries, international organizations, discussed measures to improve the effectiveness of bilateral cooperation, including meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin; met with Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev; met with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet; met with Lao General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith. The President also met and discussed with Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe; met with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres.

Also in Beijing, President Vo Van Thuong had an important meeting with General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping; and met with Comrade Zhao Leji, member of the Politburo Standing Committee, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China.

Meeting with Comrade Thai Ky, member of the Politburo Standing Committee, Secretary of the Secretariat, and Director of the Central Office of the Communist Party of China. The leaders discussed many important measures to deepen the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership. On the occasion of visiting Beijing, President Vo Van Thuong and the delegation visited a typical model of new rural construction; and received a number of leaders of Chinese corporations.

President Vo Van Thuong and the Vietnamese high-ranking delegation met with officials and staff of Vietnamese representative agencies in China.

The trip was a great success, demonstrating Vietnam's strong commitment to multilateralism, strengthening regional and global economic cooperation and connectivity; at the same time maintaining the momentum of the relationship as well as creating new cooperation opportunities, bringing the Vietnam - China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership to develop more healthily, stably and sustainably in the coming time.
