President Luong Cuong leaves for State visit to Laos

On the afternoon of April 24, President Luong Cuong led a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation to leave Hanoi for a two-day state visit to the Lao People's Democratic Republic on April 24-25 at the invitation of General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Thongloun Sisoulith.

Accompanying President Luong Cuong during the visit were comrades: Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Minister of National Defense; General Luong Tam Quang, Politburo member, Minister of Public Security; Le Minh Tri, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court; Bui Thanh Son, Party Central Committee member, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Nguyen Thi Thanh, Party Central Committee member, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly; Le Khanh Hai, Party Central Committee member, Head of the Office of the President; Nguyen Van Hung, Party Central Committee member, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Nguyen Manh Cuong, Party Central Committee member, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; Nguyen Minh Tam, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Laos. In addition, there were Deputy Minister of Finance Ho Sy Hung, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Phan Thi Thang, Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Tri Thuc, Deputy Minister of Justice Nguyen Thanh Ngoc; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee Rah Lan Chung and Assistant to the President Nguyen Hoang Anh.

This is the first State visit to Laos by President Luong Cuong, demonstrating Vietnam's high regard and priority for Laos and the determination of the leaders of the two Parties and two countries in promoting the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

With the determination to promote the implementation of high-level agreements, this visit of President Luong Cuong to Laos is of great significance in continuing to demonstrate the consistency of the Party and State of Vietnam in always considering the Lao State and the special Vietnam-Laos relationship as one of the top priorities in implementing its foreign policy, affirming Vietnam's strong support for the renovation process in Laos; at the same time, it is also a concrete activity to increase the special closeness and affection between the high-ranking leaders of the two Parties and two countries.
