The person receiving support is Nguyen Van Du (born in 1987), residing in Xom Ruong hamlet, Hao Duoc commune, Tay Ninh province. For over a year now, Du has suffered from avascular necrosis of the femoral heads on both sides, and is at high risk of becoming disabled if he does not receive surgery soon. His circumstances are difficult, and his wife and he make a living by working for hire. Since he fell ill, his two older children have had to drop out of school to work for hire with their mother.
