Tao Tianxing is only 6 years old but he can distinguish more than 800 species of fish. Tianxing loves to draw pictures of underwater creatures. Recently, Tianxing discovered that some species of fish seemed to have disappeared from the Shanghai Aquarium.
Tianxing has been taken to the Shanghai Aquarium by his parents since he was very young, and he is still "fascinated" by this destination. When he realized that some fish species were no longer present like before, Tianxing felt sad.

After hearing his story, Tianxing's mother suggested that he write a letter to the aquarium. Since he was not yet proficient in writing, his parents helped him write down his questions. As for Tianxing, he enclosed his own drawings of the creatures living at the aquarium with the letter.
Tianxing's parents thought that sending the letter was just a way for him to relieve his stress, but unexpectedly, they received a handwritten reply from the aquarium.
The letter was written under the pseudonym of “Didi the walrus”. The content of the letter answered each of Tianxing’s questions in detail, along with pictures and illustrations of the marine animals that he was interested in.
For example, Didi the walrus explained that the payara vampire fish are still living in the aquarium, but they are bigger and swim faster, so it will take more time to wait and observe before you can see them. The eels have been transferred to the Xiamen Aquarium in Fujian Province, China. Meanwhile, eels often hide in coral reefs, making them difficult to observe...

Tianxing's mother said that he was so happy to receive the reply that he asked her to read it three times as soon as he received it. In the following days, he wanted to listen to the letter again every night before going to bed.
This story quickly became a hit with the Chinese online community. Tianxing's parents shared with the Chinese media that they were very touched by the warm, humane and educational behavior of the Shanghai Aquarium staff.
They claim that Tianxing's passion for marine life was further nurtured after receiving a reply letter from the aquarium.
Sharing with Chinese media, the Shanghai Aquarium said that the person who wrote the letter in response to Tianxing was Ms. Zhu Runyu, the aquarium's public relations officer. Ms. Runyu said she was very impressed with Tianxing's knowledge and observation skills. He was able to depict animals with a surprisingly accurate level despite being only 6 years old.

Recently, the aquarium arranged a face-to-face meeting with Tianxing so that she could freely ask questions directly, and the aquarium staff would answer them in detail. This cute story has been a hit on Chinese social media in recent days, and the aquarium has received a lot of praise for its beautiful and educational behavior.
A netizen commented and received a lot of responses: “In this story, I see many beautiful things. A lovely boy with curiosity, inquisitiveness and admirable passion. A pair of parents who know how to appreciate their child's passion. An aquarium with wonderful behavior, helping to fuel the passion of discovery for a curious child.”
