Transferred 7 billion VND into someone else's account by mistake

Thanks to the support of the police, a resident in Bac Giang returned 7 billion VND that was mistakenly transferred to his bank account.

On March 21, Bac Giang Provincial Police said that Viet Lap Commune Police, Tan Yen District, Bac Giang had just helped people return 7 billion VND that was mistakenly transferred to a bank account.

Specifically, at 11:30 a.m. the same day, Viet Lap Commune Police received a request from Mr. PVX, residing in the area, to verify and return the amount of 7 billion VND transferred by an account belonging to Vietnam Technological and Commercial Joint Stock Bank ( Techcombank ) to Mr. X's bank account on March 20.

Afterwards, Viet Lap Commune Police and the Cyber Security - High-Tech Crime Prevention Department of Bac Giang Provincial Police verified the incident.

At around 2:00 p.m. on March 21, Ms. TTBX - representative of the business that mistakenly transferred money and representative of the bank - went to the police station to work and provide documents to receive 7 billion VND back.

Mr. PVX said he has read and heard a lot of information about preventing fraud and property appropriation crimes in cyberspace.

There was a warning about the scam of transferring money by mistake, so he reported it to the police, hoping to find the person who transferred the money by mistake.

At 4:30 p.m. the same day, at Techcombank headquarters - Bac Giang branch, the relevant parties completed the procedures and returned the full amount of 7 billion VND to the business that mistakenly transferred the money.

The business representative was moved and thanked Mr. X. and the police officers who helped him get the money back.

Through the above incident, Bac Giang Provincial Police recommend that people when making money transfer transactions should pay attention to carefully checking account information to avoid transferring to the wrong account.

If you receive money transferred to your account by mistake, you need to contact the nearest police station for support.
