In 2023, Brigade 171 (also known as the Submarine Hunting Brigade) was awarded the emulation flag by the Ministry of National Defense , and the unit was awarded the title of excellent training unit at the Ministry of National Defense level.

In the unit's overall achievements, there is a significant contribution from Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Nhu Quynh - Chief of Operations, Brigade 171.

Bring youth to serve the Fatherland

Admitted to the Naval Academy, studied and trained in a military environment, in 2006, Mr. Quynh was assigned to work as a sector officer on ship HQ11, Naval Brigade 171.

For the young soldier, working in the most modern anti-submarine brigade of the Navy at that time, he confided that it was truly a great honor to be able to carry out his duties in a heroic brigade that had made great contributions to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

"That tradition is the driving force that urges me to try hard in my studies and work, using my youth and the knowledge I learned in school to serve the Fatherland and the people" - Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Nhu Quynh confided.

In his position, he is always active and proactive in advising and proposing on combat readiness work.

He also regularly builds, adjusts, and supplements operational documents, training, exercises, and uses ships to perform missions at sea for the brigade, and participates in coordination with local authorities and units in the area to protect political security, order, and social safety.

Love of the sea and islands seeps into the skin

After 25 years of growing up in the military environment, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Nhu Quynh has spent nearly 20 years working at the 171st Naval Brigade. Quynh said that there were times when there was so much work that he had to stay at the unit for a whole month, many nights staying up all night to research plans to serve the drills.

Although the work is still difficult and arduous, the love for the sea and islands has permeated his blood and flesh, always urging him to constantly strive to complete the assigned tasks well, contributing his small part in the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen The Hung - Deputy Brigade Commander, Chief of Staff of Brigade 171 - commented that with many years of experience in combat staff work, Lieutenant Colonel Quynh has contributed his efforts to build documents and plans for the industry, promptly advising leaders at all levels on many initiatives to serve the exercise work, and always ensuring smooth command.

From 2019 to present, he has been awarded the title of Emulation Fighter at the grassroots level many times, classified as an excellent cadre and an excellent party member.

In 2021, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Nhu Quynh was awarded a certificate of merit by the Minister of National Defense for his outstanding achievements in work from 2019 to 2020. In 2023, he was awarded a certificate of merit by the Commander of the Navy for his outstanding achievements in performing the service's exercise tasks.

"I realize that my achievements are also the achievements of the collective. I myself am always aware that I need to try to cultivate and strive more, contributing my intelligence, efforts and experience to build Brigade 171 in particular, the Navy in general, to be revolutionary, disciplined, elite, modern and firmly protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland" - Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Nhu Quynh shared.
