On the afternoon of June 26, Coach Nguyen Thanh Cong confirmed that he was laid off by Hong Linh Ha Tinh Club (Ha Tinh Club). After many unsuccessful requests to resign, he has now received approval from the club's president.
The reason given by coach Nguyen Thanh Cong is not new, it is because of health. After resting, not having to prepare personnel for the new season, Mr. Cong has time to go to Japan to study for the AFC Pro certificate.
Coach Nguyen Thanh Cong and some colleagues such as Coach Nguyen Viet Thang will continue to complete the next stage of the process of obtaining a professional coaching license according to Asian standards.
After completing his studies or obtaining his Pro license, Coach Nguyen Thanh Cong will consider continuing his coaching career. This coach’s health has not been good for a long time, but he still pursues his passion.
Coach Nguyen Thanh Cong has led Ha Tinh Club since April 2021. In 2023, he asked to resign but was not accepted. At the beginning of the 2024-2025 season, he also proposed to the team president but was not approved.
Only after leading Ha Tinh FC to a safe finish and a memorable season, coach Thanh Cong was determined to resign and was accepted. This season, he helped the team have a series of 14 draws.
Ha Tinh Club has prepared a replacement, but the team has not announced it yet. The team has also just parted ways with midfielder Luong Xuan Truong and renewed the contract with center back Helerson Mateus.
