When Nguyen Hung stepped onto the stage of the premiere of the movie “Red Rain”, the lights dimmed, a simple guitar in his hand, he sang the first lines, the audience fell silent.
A simple, rustic song, but extremely pure and shining with bright hopes for a victory for the Fatherland.
In the first half of the song, the author sang alone, and in the second half, all of his “teammates”, the very young Gen Z actors of the movie “Red Rain”, rushed onto the stage, gathered around the musician and sang the chorus together: “If the war is over and I haven’t come home yet, then mom, cheer up, you have a heroic son, who has spent his youth sowing freedom for the country. To me, there is nothing more beautiful than that”. Some young actors wiped away their tears.

With a beautiful, bright melody, simple, sincere but extremely touching lyrics that touch the hearts of listeners, "What could be more beautiful" is being widely shared on many social networking platforms and is very popular with audiences.
Nguyen Hung is one of the young actors participating in the movie “Red Rain” directed by Lieutenant Colonel, Meritorious Artist Dang Thai Huyen, produced by Army Cinema. The movie is about the revolutionary war with a script by writer Chu Lai, inspired and fictionalized from the event of 81 days and nights of our army and people fighting bravely to defend Quang Tri Citadel in 1972.

In the film, Nguyen Hung plays Hai, a young man who puts his future dreams aside to take up arms to defend the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, becoming a young soldier fighting in Squad 1 in Quang Tri Citadel.
Before taking on the role of Hai in the project “Red Rain”, Nguyen Hung was known as a singer in the band MAYDAYs, the owner of the song “Miracle” and a prominent face in the short film “Wooden Fish”, the work that won the Best Short Film award at the 2024 Kite Awards.
The song “Phap Miracle” is also a special case as it is the movie song of “Dan Ca Go”, but became famous before the movie was widely released, performed by many famous singers such as Xuong Rong group (Bui Cong Nam, Thanh Duy, Thien Minh, Duy Khanh), ST Son Thach… The popularity of “Phap Miracle” had an effect when the movie was released.
Nguyen Hung's appearance in "Red Rain" marks a remarkable transition from music to cinema, where he boldly tries his hand at a thorny role that requires a lot of inner depth.

The most special thing about Nguyen Hung is that he not only participated in “Red Rain” as an actor, but what he felt through the filming process touched his heart, his musical emotions and urged him to write “What is more beautiful” during his days on set. Born by chance, “What is more beautiful” was quickly chosen to become the official soundtrack of “Red Rain”.
Director Dang Thai Huyen said that Nguyen Hung wrote the song from the first days of rehearsing the script with his co-stars. The song was inspired by the film and by the feelings of a young person born many years after the war, but it brought back the full emotions of the image of young soldiers who had just left their mothers' arms and school to go to the battlefield. The song has a sobbing feeling, but also a sense of serenity and peace.

At the end of July, right after its release, the song “What’s more beautiful” by Nguyen Hung entered the Top 10 of Zing MP3’s New Music Chart. The lyric video on Youtube was just released 9 days ago but has already reached 1.4 million views.
Scheduled to be released on August 22, “Red Rain” has its own way to reach the audience, which is the emotional way through the song “What is more beautiful than”. With the current level of audience access, “What is more beautiful than” is bringing the audience, especially young audiences, to know more about the film. Let’s wait and hope for a new “explosion” in “Red Rain” like “Tunnel: Sun in the Dark” or “Peach, Pho and Piano”.
