According to EVNNPC, the maximum electricity consumption in 17 northern provinces and cities managed by the unit (excluding Hanoi ) from August 1 to 3 reached 15,828.29 MW; 17,626.13 MW and 17,195.34 MW, respectively.

Although not yet surpassing the record of 18,931 MW recorded previously in 2025, these are all very high thresholds and have surpassed the 2024 peak of 17,300 MW.

Regarding commercial electricity output in 17 northern provinces and cities in the first 3 days of August 2025, it was recorded at 343.9201 million kWh; 355.5194 million kWh and 349.4929 million kWh, respectively.

Although lower than the peak consumption threshold in 2025 of 398,388 million kWh and the peak in 2024 of 363,705 million kWh, the consumption level has approached the old peak, reflecting the huge demand for electricity.

EVNNPC has been implementing many solutions to ensure safe and continuous operation of the power system, supplying electricity to more than 11 million customers. The Corporation calls on people and businesses to join hands to use electricity economically, especially during peak hours from 13:00 to 15:00 and 20:00 to 23:00 every day.

EVNNPC recommends turning off devices when not in use, limiting the simultaneous operation of many high-capacity devices. Air conditioners should be set at 26-27°C, combined with fans for efficient and economical cooling. In addition, households should replace old, low-efficiency devices with energy-saving labeled devices, and monitor electricity usage via EVNNPC's website or customer care app.

In addition to the recommendations of EVNNPC, recently, Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) also noted the risk of equipment short circuits due to overload when using air conditioners at too low a temperature. EVN recommends setting 26-27°C and limiting the simultaneous use of high-capacity equipment such as electric stoves and water heaters during peak hours (12pm-3pm, 10pm-12am).

Regarding electrical safety, EVN emphasizes the need to regularly check the electrical system in the house such as wires, sockets, and equipment to detect early risks of incidents. People should install an electric leakage protection device (ELCB) to automatically cut off the power supply when there is an electric leakage, minimizing the risk of electric shock and fire. EVN also promotes electrical safety propaganda for children during the hot season.
