Cuc Phuong was named Asia's Leading National Park 2023 by the World Travel Awards for the fifth consecutive year.

Director of Ninh Binh Department of Tourism Bui Van Manh confirmed that Cuc Phuong won the title of Asia's Leading National Park 2023 voted by the World Travel Awards. For the 5th consecutive year, Cuc Phuong has held the top position in this category. Other candidates with Cuc Phuong include: Chitwan National Park Nepal, Fuji-Hakone-Izu Japan, Kinabalu Malaysia, Komodo Indonesia, Minneriya Sri Lanka and Taman Negara Malaysia.

According to the Organizing Committee, Cuc Phuong continues to affirm the attractiveness of ecotourism - one of the key tourism types of Vietnam's tourism industry. Held annually since 1993, the Award has become a prestigious world brand in honoring outstanding achievements of the tourism industry in all fields. This Award is also known as the Oscar of tourism.

Mr. Do Hong Hai, Deputy Director of the Center for Environmental Education and Cuc Phuong National Park Services, said the award was an "honor" and "encourages all cadres, workers and employees to make more efforts in managing, protecting and building Cuc Phuong, so that this place deserves to be in the top position in Asia".

The Asia's Leading National Park 2023 Awards Ceremony is scheduled to take place on September 6 in Ho Chi Minh City. In 2022, Ho Chi Minh City will also host the World Travel Awards (Asia - Oceania Region).

Cuc Phuong National Park is located 120 km south of Hanoi, in the Tam Diep mountain range and is the first national park in Vietnam, according to the Ninh Binh Department of Tourism. The park was established on July 7, 1962, covering three provinces: Ninh Binh, Hoa Binh, Thanh Hoa with an area of over 22,000 hectares. As a tropical rainforest that is green all year round, Cuc Phuong has more than 2,200 species of higher plants and mosses, 122 species of reptiles and amphibians, 66 species of fish, nearly 2,000 species of insects and 135 species of mammals, including the white-cheeked black langur, a beautiful and rare primate chosen as the symbol of Cuc Phuong. Late April and early May is butterfly season, attracting thousands of tourists to come and take photos with millions of butterflies in the forest.

Mr. Hai suggested that visitors can participate in experiences organized by Cuc Phuong such as: walking in the primeval forest, trekking through the forest - sleeping in Muong villages, watching wild animals at night, bird watching, cycling, observing reptiles, visiting - learning at rescue programs, and preserving animals and plants.
