(NLDO) – The buying price of SJC gold bars at the end of the day was only 86.4 million VND/tael, a loss of 1.8 million VND even though the world price only decreased slightly.
At the end of February 6, the price of SJC gold bars continued to plummet. SJC, PNJ, DOJI , and Bao Tin Minh Chau companies simultaneously lowered the buying price of SJC gold bars to 86.4 million VND/tael and the selling price to 89.6 million VND/tael, down from 1.6 million VND to 1.8 million VND compared to the opening price in the morning. Some gold shops sold SJC gold bars for only 87.6 million VND/tael.
Banks also sharply reduced the trading price of SJC gold bars. ACB sold gold bars for 89.3 million VND/tael while Eximbank and Sacombank sold them for only 89 million VND/tael.
During the day, the price of gold jumped to 91.2 million VND in the morning and then dropped sharply at the end of the day when many people went to sell gold.
Gold prices suddenly plummeted at the end of the day
Not only gold bars, the price of 99.99 gold rings and jewelry gold of all kinds also decreased sharply, when businesses bought at 86.1 million VND/tael and sold at 89.4 million VND/tael, down 1.2 million VND/tael compared to yesterday.
This is a very sharp decrease in the domestic gold price today, especially when the world price only decreased slightly. In the international market, the gold price is trading at 2,865 USD/ounce, down about 7 USD/ounce compared to the morning.
The increase in domestic gold prices has begun to slow down in the past two days, despite the fact that in the international market, the precious metal is at a new historical peak.
On the same afternoon, at the Mi Hong Gold Company branch (Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City), the number of customers coming to transact was not too crowded compared to normal days. Customers mainly asked to buy jewelry of all kinds for beauty needs, some bought for luck before the God of Wealth day.
SJC gold bar price fluctuates strongly during the day
The store employee Mi Hong said that in the past 2 days, many customers have come to sell gold, especially SJC gold bars and plain gold rings of all kinds. The store currently displays many 1-tael SJC gold bars; plain gold rings of all kinds and there is no limit on the quantity sold to customers.
"Many customers sold gold so the price dropped quickly during the day. There are still a lot of 1-tael SJC gold bars left in the store" - said an employee of this gold shop.
According to experts, domestic gold prices fell rapidly as selling pressure in the market increased, much higher than buying pressure.
Regarding gold management policy, the Governor of the State Bank has just issued Directive No. 01/CT-NHNN on organizing the implementation of key tasks of the banking industry in 2025.
In particular, the State Bank will synchronously deploy solutions on foreign exchange management to contribute to stabilizing the foreign exchange market and supporting monetary policy management. Propose appropriate solutions to manage gold trading activities in the new context.
