On October 3, the US House of Representatives voted to impeach House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and Republican Congressman Patrick McHenry was appointed acting Speaker of the House.
In his new position, one of the first actions of Mr. McHenry, a close ally of Mr. McCarthy, was to expel former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (Democrat) from her private office by October 4, according to Fox News.
Nancy Pelosi has been ordered to return her office in the Capitol by the acting Speaker of the House.
The above office is a private place, only a few high-ranking figures in the House of Representatives are given such rooms.
In the email, Mr. McHenry said that Ms. Pelosi's office would be turned over to the Speaker of the House. "Please clean up this space. The locks will be changed tomorrow," the email said.
Pelosi moved out of the residence on October 3 with the help of House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries’ staff. Pelosi is in her home state of California to mourn the death of the late Senator Dianne Feinstein.

"With all the important decisions that the new Republican leadership has to make, which we are looking forward to, one of the first actions taken by the Speaker pro tempore was to order me to vacate my office in the Capitol immediately. This is a far cry from tradition. When I was Speaker, I gave former Speaker [Dennis] Hastert (R-Calif.) much larger offices for as long as he wanted," Pelosi said.

Former House Speaker Pelosi said office space was not important to her "but it seems important to them." "Now that the new Republican leadership has addressed this important issue, hopefully they will get back to what really matters to the American people," Pelosi said.
