Based on the exam subjects, universities have also built many corresponding admission combinations, expanding beyond traditional blocks such as A00 (Math, Physics, Chemistry), D01 (Math, Literature, English), C00 (Literature, History, Geography) to integrate new subjects such as Informatics, Economic and Legal Education.
According to the revised and supplemented admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), from 2025 there will be no limit on the admission combinations for each major/group of majors. However, to help candidates choose a major according to their strengths, Hong Duc University (HUD) limits the number of combinations to no more than 5, each combination consists of 3 subjects/subjects, including at least Math or Literature and between the combinations there must be 2 similar subjects; the third subject is selected from subjects in the general education program.
Along with that, Hong Duc University has also integrated new subjects into the admission combinations. For example, for the Biology Education major code 7140213, in addition to the traditional admission combination of 3 subjects: Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology or Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics..., this year Hong Duc University will use the additional admission combination B04 including: Mathematics, Biology and Economic and Legal Education. For the Natural Science Education major code 7140247, in addition to the traditional admission combination of A00 or A01, this year a new combination of 3 subjects will be used: Mathematics, Physics and Technology...
Associate Professor, Dr. Dau Ba Thin, Vice Principal of Hong Duc University, said: "When determining the admission combination for the 2025 majors, 3 subjects/exams were selected based on the principle of ensuring both basic input knowledge requirements and equal admission opportunities for all candidates."
Similarly, at Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism (VHTT&DL), Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thuc, Vice Principal of the school, said: “In 2025, Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism will continue to maintain the same 5 admission methods as in 2024, while making some adjustments to suit the 2018 General Education Program and meet the requirements of the 2025 admission regulations such as: supplementing and diversifying admission combinations, including new combinations integrating subjects of the 2018 General Education Program such as: X25, X74, X78 and aptitude, meeting the orientation of developing qualities and abilities of high school students. For specific majors such as preschool education, physical education, music pedagogy, fine arts pedagogy, vocal music, ... the school will organize a separate aptitude test, ensuring proper assessment of professional capacity according to output requirements”.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuc: "These adjustments are not only suitable for the new program and admission regulations in 2025, but also expand admission opportunities for students studying flexible combinations of the 2018 General Education Program."
This year, Thanh Hoa Medical College has also expanded and innovated its admission methods in the direction of diversifying subject combinations; adjusting and supplementing admission methods to create favorable conditions for candidates.
Master Le Ha Phuc, Head of Admissions and Training Department according to social needs, Thanh Hoa Medical College, said: “In addition to continuing to consider admission based on high school graduation exam scores, Thanh Hoa Medical College will apply the method of considering transcripts according to a separate combination, including two main components: Average score of Math in high school years, calculated according to the coefficient: Math grade 10 x coefficient 1; Math grade 11 x coefficient 2; Math grade 12 x coefficient 3. Average score of the school year, also according to the coefficient: Grade 10 final score x coefficient 1; Grade 11 final score x coefficient 2; Grade 12 final score x coefficient 3. In which, the average score of the two above score combinations must be 5.0 or higher to be eligible for admission. This method is applied to all training majors of Thanh Hoa Medical College in the 2025 admission period, helping to comprehensively assess learning capacity. candidates' practice over the years and in accordance with the practical requirements of the field of study".
According to experts, to increase the admission rate, candidates need to clearly understand the admission method; register for the correct training major (some majors have separate admission combinations, so candidates need to research carefully to avoid mistakes when registering, especially for majors with aptitude tests or majors with high thresholds for ensuring input quality and admission scores in previous years); should not set too risky wishes but should allocate wishes according to scores from high to low, including "safe" wishes to increase the chance of admission; proactively practice aptitude (if any); especially need to pay attention to follow official admission information from schools: regularly visit the website, fanpage, or call the admission hotline to promptly update the aptitude test schedule, timeline, thresholds for ensuring input quality and the work of converting equivalent scores between admission methods...
