The People's Committee of Da Nang City has just approved the investment policy for the project of Investment in construction and business of inland waterway tourism in the city.
Accordingly, the investment project will build, renovate, upgrade and expand 20 inland waterway wharves along with auxiliary works to serve the wharves' operations with a total land area of more than 15 hectares.
Tourism services on the Han River are chosen by many locals and tourists.
At the same time, build a park behind 11 wharves with a total expected land area of more than 25 hectares.
There will be inland waterway tourism business activities, developing new tourism products such as tours, food and beverage services, and on-board entertainment to attract visitors to waterway tourism.
In addition to the main goal of serving inland waterway tourism, the system of ports and inland waterway wharves is also a place to pick up and drop off passengers, anchor boats... serving public transport by waterway, reducing pressure on road traffic, and diversifying passenger transport methods.
According to the policy, the investor will purchase passenger ships for inland waterway tourism, passenger ships using clean fuel, green energy, and the best environmental friendliness in the world with a capacity of 100 - 300 passengers/ship and 300 - 500 passengers/ship.
20 inland waterway ports: Total investment of nearly 10,000 billion VND
The project has a total investment of nearly 10,000 billion VND including site clearance costs, a 50-year operation period, and is being implemented along the Han River, Co Co, Vinh Dien, and Cam Le.
According to the plan, the project will be implemented from 2025 to 2031, divided into 2 phases with 3 component projects.
Specifically, phase 1 from 2025-2030 with one component project. Phase 2 is implemented from 2028-2031, divided into 2 component projects.
Previously, the Department of Construction of Da Nang City sent a document to investors and inland waterway transport business units to invite investment in means (luxury, modern) to exploit waterway tourist transport activities in the city. Transport business units in need of preparing a business plan will send it to the Department of Construction for inspection and reporting to the People's Committee of Da Nang City.
The business plan clearly states the type of transport business; the scope of operation of the vehicle; the vehicle mooring plan; the port, departure terminal and final destination;
Time to invest in building new vehicles; General description of the vehicle (materials, vehicle grade, total main engine capacity, basic dimensions, vehicle photos - 3D perspective); Written agreement or contract with the port management unit, inland waterway terminal for the vehicle to pick up and drop off passengers.
