Today, October 17, AFC will conduct the draw for the 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship qualifying round. There are a total of 19 teams participating in the qualifying round, divided into 4 groups (3 groups of 5 teams and 1 group of 4 teams) competing in Myanmar, Thailand, Indonesia and Uzbekistan.
The top two teams in each group will join the third-placed team with the best record to participate in the finals. In the finals, the nine qualifying teams and the three teams that will be directly qualified (hosts China, defending champions Iran, and runners-up Japan) will compete in China in the summer of 2025.
The 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship will select the top 3 teams to qualify for the 2025 Women's Futsal World Cup, so the qualifying round will also be like the first step for the ambition to qualify for the world- class tournament.
According to AFC's quick classification, the Vietnam Women's Futsal Team is in the number 1 seed group. The only teams in the other group are Myanmar, the host, so of course the Vietnam Women's Futsal Team will be in the same group with this opponent.
The 2025 AFC Women's Futsal Championship Qualifiers will take place from January 11 to January 19, 2025. The draw for the qualifying round will begin at 2:00 p.m. today, October 17, 2024.
Before entering this tournament, the Vietnam Women's Futsal Team will participate in the 2024 Southeast Asian Women's Futsal Tournament taking place in the Philippines next November.
